    Default Lathe inspection in Melbourne

Hi Guys, I've been lurking here for a while, I joined up a few months ago. I work as an engineer in the O&G industry. I trained in fitting & turning over 40yrs ago, I'm collecting treasure for my pending retirement and found a lathe I've been looking for for ages in Melbourne. Since I live in Perth I was wondering if there was anyone on here from Melbourne who could give it the once over for me please? I'm happy to help out with expenses, dinner vouchers or whatever. If you can assist please PM me your phone number and I will give you a call to discuss.

    Cheers
    .

if the j&s was closer I'd definitely be having a look. I doubt I'm going to find a decent one around here though.

He doesn't say if he can load it. But that is the mintest looking J & S I've ever seen. 3 phase going by those plugs on the wall. We could all ways do the Melb / Canberra / Albury shuffle. That's a nice machine, bit small for me, or I'd be bidding on it, just because it is so nice.

    Regards. Phil.

    Thanks Phil.
I was going to say "no it does not have an internal spindle" but i'm pretty sure thats what is in the bottom of the cabinet with its belts and drive pulley.
I'll ask some questions, the biggest problem is SWMBO, after i bought the C10 she said to me "how about no new machines for a while"

That J&S 1212 certainly is in excellent condition, it actually looks better than the later model 1212E we have at work. It would make a great home shop machine.

Just think of the amount of concrete just for the foundation for that...
