Found a very handy field guide to central & western QLD trees courtesy of an unlikely source - Santos.

Great reference, shame there are no timber samples to go with each species

have a look at ttit.id.au he is a member of the emerald wood club and is a great resource.
Bart: I am through with working. Working is for chumps.
Homer: Son, I'm proud of you! I was twice your age when I figured that out.

It is free as a PDF file
I do not know if a printed version is available but, if it isn't, if you click on the link in the post alerting us to it above, you can download an electronic version (PDF) and you can print it out on a good colour laser or inkjet printer to have your own paper copy if you want. If you do not have a good printer yourself then take the file to some instant printer on a CD or USB memory stick (Snap printing or many others) and they can both print and bind it into a book for you. As I understand it (and I am not a lawyer) as long as this is for personal use and you are not selling the book or printing it without the publisher/author info then you are not breaching copyright. I could be wrong, but I won't tell if you don't!
Regards
David

Following the link seems to get the famous 404 error. Santos have probably removed the item from the website.
Did anyone download the pdf? If so and you are prepared to email it to me, could you send me a PM and I will reply with my email addy?Cheers
Jeremy
