Timber Identification
Bought this from Boutique Timbers at last years auction and finally used it on a bed. A previous post about the pale timber resulted in Pepperwood, so I'm now curious as to what the reddish timber is. Possibly Rose Butternut? It was sold as a North Queensland timber, and is quite soft. Sorry I don't have any end grain shots available. After a few coats of oil and drying time the redness has dulled a bit.
First photo is after final sanding, and second photo is after a coat of Liberon Finishing Oil.

Satin Sycomore: Colouration and grain pattern are quite distinctive.
