Kangaroo whirlygig
I was looking through a book on making whirlygigs.
Got me thinking about a "hopping Kangaroo".
Making google my friend didn't help much. Found the ones that hop down a ramp.
But I want to make a whirlygig that sits on a pole, driven by a propellor.
Turning the rotary action from the propellor into the legs moving and the body moving has me thinking hard.
Maybe an old fan, they have gears to drive the oscillation???
But has anyone made one they'd like to offer some plans, ideas etc?
Thanks in advance.

Maybe have the 'roo body on a stick that pumps up 'n down, while the legs are pinned to it at the hips?
If you linked the toes together with a rod that passed through a slot in the "ground piece" then the legs should swing back 'n forth as the body bounces.
Working out the slot shape to get a good motion would be the most time consuming part, but should be do-able.

That is a good idea.
I'm still cogitating....
