I picked this up yesterday morning from Shellharbour way with a mate.
Took us a solid 2 hours to break it down so it was in light enough bits to go on the ute.
I want the saddle and cross slide to fit on my Wadkin RS wood lathe.
The main bed was 2 1/2” solid round 5’ long with 3 cast iron cross members which we hammered off ok.
Cast legs sitting on 2 1/2” x 3/8” angle 6’ long.
The guy whose grandfather (a mechanic) built the lathe gave me a bucket of tooling from under the house, it had been full of water for years I’d say.
My mate scored a Mitutoyo dial gauge on a very heavy stand plus coffee and lunch for his assistance.
I’ll take a few more photos if there’s any interest as I unload.
A fair bit will stay on the ute as I’m doing a scrap metal drop this week.
