Hi Mat, yes that is where I attached the riving knife. If you don't have those screws, do a search for table saw splitter. There are lots of good instructions for adding a splitter to an older table saw.

Default Arbor bearings job coming up

New to this forum, but I do have a Tanner 10" Table Saw like this. I've had it for about 40 years and used it a lot over that time.
I was thrilled to get it because it's the same model (or similar) to one my father had down in Southland New Zealand and those days when we all helped taking demolition timber to the saw for firewood and I still see him as he waits for more timber to cut clearing the sawdust out of the mitre slot with a quick up-and-back motion of the mitre whatsit. I was well impressed.
This one was old when I bought it for $35 but it's served me well. However just lately the pulley-side arbor bearing is making noises!

What bearings are in it anyway? Plain white metal like my 1969 BSA crankshaft?

I guess I'll work out how the arbor comes apart, I did with the BSA! Wish me luck!

The arbor is fairly easy to pull out. Start undoing bolts and you will have it in no time.

as a wierd question, what do you do for dust extraction on a saw like this?

obvisouly not a huge consideration back in 1952, do you just wheel it out side and let the saw dust fly?

It actually has a DE port cast into the blade housing. I've enclosed it with bits of MDF with magnets in, to keep them in place, and have a shop vac attached but it does bugger all. Well..it does do a bit. I wear a mask if cutting MDF. For the very occasional use it gets it's good enough.

Default Tanner SB1053 Table Saw parts diagram

    Hi there,

I have just bought a Tanner 10"table saw that really needs restoration.

I am unable to open the parts list in your post. Is there any other way of getting hold of this parts list?

Would someone maybe have a manual for this table saw?

    Regards

    Chris

I was able to open it two minutes ago. It may be because you are a new member with less than three posts.

In two posts tell us a bit about your Tanner (condition, accessories, how far you had to go to get it...) and after three posts try that link again.

    Cheers, Vann.
