    Default Large Antique Dust Collector

I was going to be mischievous and post this in the DC section, but decided against it. I don't propose to use it and in addition it may not even work that well even if I did have a suitable power source (It has a 20HP 3ph motor). I certainly have nowhere to put it, but I did need to move it.

The discharge diameter is 400mm. Quite a bit of weight in it and you can see some of the associated duct work to the left in the first pic.

It was originally mounted high up in the workshop and exited through a hole in the wall. By the time I purchased all the machinery it has been in disuse for more than ten years and that was back around 2000. I asked the original owner of this equipment, who also installed it in the joinery, what he did with all the sawdust. He said, "It was 1954: We just let it blow out the back."

    Paul,
Are we planning a line shaft workshop by any chance, it’s just I’ve heard there run from strait Hot air so I’m wondering do you have a ready supply of Hot air, that’s quite a deviation from your normal A/C charged world.

    Cheers Matt,

I also noticed the lineshaft in the background.
    A steam engine perhaps.
Mine is currently on the grid but if I live long enough and don’t p off all my mates it may get the Wolseley hooked up one day.

This thread should answer the concerns over the line shaft:
