Early Bursgreen thicky down the Gong.
Grays had an auction recently and besides a Wadkin EQ spindle and Barker 27” bandsaw there was an 18” Bursgreen thicknesser.
Looked to be before Wadkins takeover of Bursgreen from the tag mentioning Sagar.
I had the later 18” under and over when I was seriously making stuff.
Ive an early Wadkin Bursgreen cattledog somewhere with a few of the pics just Bursgreen without the Wadkin.
It’s dated so will dig it out if there’s any interest.
Tried to post a few photos I’d saved but iPad only wants to do one and then tells me no photos or videos when I open it. Will try again later can probably get the tag pic up.

Houghton Bunscreen.
Houghton Bunscreen - love it!! I nearly fell off my seat laughing.
Bunscreen.jpg
Piecing together bits from the vintage machinery site (and hoping that they got it right) it seems that Sagar had bought Bursgreen by 1947 and were selling Bursgreen machines under the Sagar Developments line, and later Sagar Bursgreen.
Looking at the machine and tag photos is seems that machines made at the former Bursgreen factories were labeled "Bursgreen", manufactured by "Houghton Engineers" and sold by "Sagar (Developments) Ltd".
Confused? I am.

Gday Fellas
I’m brand spanking new to the forum as I stubbled onto your posts searching for this “Bunscreen”.
I’m the bloke who brought it! 🙋🏻♂️
Be greatful if you have any info on this old machine or could point me in direction as I’m tipping I’ll need to spend some time restoring. I’m wanting to get my own shed set up and there’s just something about the having old machines in it that sits right. Also picked up the mentioned EQ do restoration may be needed there too. As a beginner would love to learn from some experienced blokes that are happy to share their wisdom and knowledge. Located in Samford Valley.

When Wadkin took over Bursgreen they called that machine the UO.
I had a quick google and nothing comes up.
However UOS brings up Daltons (or some other Pom mob who now call themselves Wadkin)
complete parts and operating manual for the planer/thicknesser version.
This should get you out of trouble.
I’ve sale etc stuff but that’s shows/tells nothing particularly useful.
