Default Free Equipment - Martin Panel Saw + Hare & Forbes Table Saw - Gosford area

Morning all. Not sure if this is the right forum but I've decided to get rid of my big Martin panel saw and the 12" Hafco bench saw from my shed. Both of them need some minor attention but everything is complete and functional.

The Martin 3.0m (415v) panel saw was working perfectly when I bought it from a local joinery around 6 years ago. It is a 300mm dual blade (scriber blade) model with tilting arbour, and was situated outside under a tarp for several years before being brought inside the new shed. The sliding carriage moves OK but probably needs new bearings in the rollers. The tilting arbour mechansism will also need to be disassembled and lubricated. Probably a relatively easy project for someone with the time. There is also a power drive/feed unit which bolts to the benchtop.

The Hare & Forbes table saw is complete. I think it needs a new blade as the current one has some vibration. No time or inclination to work on these, and offering to forum members first.

That’s very generous of you Wayne.
If I had the time, I would jump in the ute and come down and pick up that Martin, a very nice saw if I remember correctly.

I was just about to start looking for a well-used (and therefore affordable) full-size panel saw. I’m owner-building a house and want one for cabinet work - of which there will be heaps. Two kitchens, 3 bathrooms, 2 WIRobes, laundry and much built in cabinetry.

I live near Gosford and I have a Ute. Can I come and check it out maybe?

Cheers, and yep, very decent of you

Yes, not a problem to come and have a look Arron (no obligation) - it would be a perfect setup for your proposed joinery work. It will need to be a big ute as it weighs a tonne - literally. As Brad/Ironwood has mentioned above the Martin panel saw is a beautiful piece of German equipment with a 300mm blade and has a full sized sliding table with approx 3.2m travel. If you are prepared to spend a little time in minor restoration it will be a desirable piece of equipment. I already owned an Altendorf panel saw when I bought the Martin (and still have it) so not really interested spending any time on it as mentioned.

I think that Toomnus (Tom) is coming to have a look at the Hafco table saw tomorrow, so it will probably be gone. I'd much rather the machines go to appreciative users than sit around any longer.
