Hyco scroll saw restoration - help needed
Team
I have started reassembling the scroll saw today. It’s taking a little long than expected because I’m incorporating a light into it. Hope you enjoy the photos. Will continue tomorrow.

That's looking great Stew ! What are you going to do with the motor? What colour?

Basically finished! Just need to tidy the electrical cables, get a new v belt and paint the hyco brand red and I’m done!
My question for the readers with a hyco /woodfast scroll saw is what tension do you use on the blade? Also does anyone have an original badge on their saw? If so can you please take a good quality photo directly perpendicular ? I reckon I could make a decal and transfer it onto brass and make it look like an enamel badge. The type of badge I’m after looks like this.
Note this Photo isn’t good enough quality for reproduction...... I will share the decals if other need one.
Thanks in advance for any assistance

I'm running mine around 15 on the scale.
It's a bit hard to tell from the photo but take the time to adjust the arm/head to get the blade perpendicular.
If you haven't already got it the only oil I could find of the correct/recommended viscosity was motor bike gear oil. SAE 50 from LucasThose were the droids I was looking for.

Its a shame that one on the Gold Coast fell through as it had a good badge on it. Were they just a decal or an etched brass badge? I have been wondering if someone with a CNC type engraver could reproduce those etched badges if some good vector art could be produced. I am dropping into my Trophy guys this afternoon and will ask the question.
Does anyone know how they were originally made?
