I'd like to see it maxed out with 1 board.
60" is over 1500mm (1524mm to be precise or 1.524 metres)

I think that picture only tells half the story.
The drive is by flat belt probably to a motor and drive shaft that is wider than the machine. It would have had two at least two flat belt pulleys for the top and bottom cutter head and another one for the feed mechanism. There may have been more than this, but I am not familiar with this machine; only the principle. I would hazard a guess that the overall footprint including the motor and drive shaft would occupy the space of a single garage.
