Looks like it could also be used to harvest cereal crops.

I'd like to see it maxed out with 1 board.

60" is over 1500mm (1524mm to be precise or 1.524 metres)

I know some people whom would fit width ways on the tables.

I think that picture only tells half the story.

The drive is by flat belt probably to a motor and drive shaft that is wider than the machine. It would have had two at least two flat belt pulleys for the top and bottom cutter head and another one for the feed mechanism. There may have been more than this, but I am not familiar with this machine; only the principle. I would hazard a guess that the overall footprint including the motor and drive shaft would occupy the space of a single garage.

It does appear that the guy feeding through the thicknesser is running full sized timber framed sections . one of which is leaned up at the back of the machine. the side head is dressing at square too . It’s unclear if this machine was ever made.

But the real thing to take away from that is the fact that there is a hierarchy of workers. The "wannabe management " gent with the tie & apron and the working class stiff!

    Have fun,
    Alli

PS can you imagine the kickback from that thing!!
