Possibly a boring or morticing bit fitted there, is the table height adjustable?
Ill have look thru my McPhersons cattledogs when I get time.
The were the agents for Barker and have pics of most of their stuff.
As a matter of interest we got rid of a Barker rip saw like this when I started at Sydney Uni.
Replaced it with a Wadkin Bursgreen 12” tilting arbor saw, bit more appropriate for the size of work I was doing there.

    Hey Henry,

Yes the table rises and falls, now that you mention it a morticing bit of boring bit makes sense for the size of the table. Hopefully I can find some who has one so I can re create the blade guard arm so it looks the part

    Cheers Tyler

Default Barker pics from McPhersons cat.

Here’s a pic from the Centenary cattledog.
    That 1960 from memory.
Ill check out my earlier ones when I get some time.
The guard looks to be the same as the one on the 30” saw so I’ve included a closeup of it.
Mentions the boring table for your 20” saw.
