Default Random Question LS Barker 32" Bandsaw restoration

Hi, sorry to bother, wondering if anyone has any advice / has done this before.

I want to smooth out some of the (I guess casting?) gouges in the old LS Barker saw before I prep and repaint it, and I was going to use a half decent body filler (maybe Septone Rapid Sand as you can't get Bondo in Aus) but was wondering, has anyone done this before and do you remember what you used?

    Thanks in advance.

My Paint store Sold me UPOL Dolphin Glaze to do the job... I have used it a few times and seems to work OK.
