    Default Stroke/Pad Sander

This is my Stroke (Australian/USA name) Pad (UK name) sander, it's Italian made and probably dates from the 1980's, these Sanders sell cheep these days, mainly because of their footprint, but they are a good machine to own.

I have replaced the traditional slated bed with some 30mm ply and put rows of dog holes in it, so now I can lock the sliding bed in place and use it as a very handy extra work bench.

To make the sliding table bench more useful, I have made/added a few accessories

    Hi Peter,

In response to your comments on my LS Barker Bandsaw thread.

I know when I had the electric motor rewind the guy charged more for the 2 speed and when I asked how it worked he said there was a Tap on the motor and gave me this rough wiring diagram.

This is the 2 speed Forward/Reverse switch I was trying to describe in my Bandsaw thread.

Pic of control panel, the top switch is the Extractor fan on/off switch (it works fine but not original and needs replacing with one that fits better) middle switch controls the belt and needs replacing with a 2 speed forward/reverse switch to take advantage of the 2 speed motor rewind, the bottom switch is the Up/Down control for the sliding table (this switch also works, but would be better if is said Up/Down for the direction of table movement)

    Cheers Nigel

Assuming that's also a Kraus & Naimer switch, they can be ordered with whatever you want engraved on the name plate. I'd guess that Up/Down might even be a standard plate.
