    Default Unidentified tool

I picked a few of these bit like tools in a bunch of other stuff last week. Do any of you knowledgeable folk know what it is?

Look like it has the profile of a counter sink screw... But it doesn't seem to have a cutting edge.

It is a drill with counter sink cutting edge. My father was a joiner and I remember him using these for fitting screws. This was before there were battery drill/ drivers and phillips head wood screws. The slightly larger diameter area below the counter sink portion was to cater for the smooth shaft on the screws.

I have a set of these, they came with a spring steel clip that slid over the flat blade and clipped into one of those three grooves on the shank for countersink depth.

Likewise, I have a single one that I inherited from my Father-in-law. Mine appears to be for a #8 screw.
