Wadkin CC
I picked up another Wadkin family member today a Wadkin CC, not sure if it's the CC1 or CC2, I will need to measure it.
The Tag number is 40832 making it a 1951 machine and the saw blade cover is of the older style, it seems to be in quite good condition for it's age.

Nice complete looking one Nigel. A lot of them lose their switches for some reason .

Thats awesome! These seem to go for peanuts for the most part - great value for money if you have the space!

Nice original condition machine. Missing only it's dust extraction parts Wadkin CC Dust Chute
The CC came out with three different motors over the years, and at least three different blade guards. Yours has the original motor (which I think is almost identical to the PK dimension saw type ZF motor - and probably uses the same bearings). The CC in the linked thread has the second type of motor.
A friend had one identical to yours, but with a few bits missing and replaced by non-OEM parts. Two years agao I managed to pick up a second identical machine for him for parts, for $74.50 NZD. He decided to keep them both - one with blade fitted, the other with trenching heads.
They do take up a lot of space. He put them both up against a wall and built an extension to house the arms.

The second CC being housed behind the "newer" iron to the left.

Hi Vann,
Read your thread regarding the dust extraction part missing from my CC and found it interesting and informative, so thank you for taking the time all those years ago to put up this information, mine is missing the return springs and I don't know if CC1 & CC2 were different length springs, there are some for sale in the UK, but not sure if they are the right ones.
Cheers

The other thing you need to watch out for is I am fairly certain that the first and second versions of the CC had different return springs (not sure if 2nd and 3rd versions were the same either). If you are prepared to spend that much money, you could contact AMS (parts-world-shop on ebay) and give them the model and test numbers. They should be able to tell you which spring you require.
I seem to recall the same discussion with 'timberframe' on the Canadian forum some years back.

Hi Vann,
Thanks for that, so the 3000 is the machine Serial Number and not the Test Number?
So it seems they use the same spring regardless of the difference in the length of travel between a CC1 or CC2 machines, I have found another up to 2999, which was more expensive, I wonder what the difference is, because they look the same as the ones you posted, it might just be the thread at the end of the spring, I did find a pair being sold for 125 pounds, but now not sure if they will fit, but quite a big saving if I could get them to work.
Cheers
Nigel

Just wish I could see the pictures of this cc. They are an enormous machine with that rear slider. I’d love one but can’t justify the space it would occupy. I have a nice ck waiting to be put back into use though
