What a great saw - I do like these and the Thomas White equivalent saw.

Nice find, does it still have the return springs?

It has the one long return spring. It looks like the end broke off and they just threaded the broken end through a hole to reattach it though.

The rubber damper behind the saw rotation tube seems to be missing the rubber damper and spring. I may have to turn up or 3D print a poppet and find a spring and rubber damper to reconstruct this.

Also at that end of the sliding ram there's a welded repair of the aluminium casting. Looks like the whole saw may have toppled forward at some point and almost sheared of the end near to where the saw motor mounts. Fortunately it looks like they did a pretty solid job with the two welds to repair it. Images here show the top and underneath of the weld.

I spent a few hours on Saturday cleaning the rails and bearings as well as their covers and the raw cast areas under the covers. I also pumped new grease into the motor bearings and oiled all of the accessible oiling points. I didn't fill the oil bath for the rise and fall gears as I'll have to move it soon enough and that would become a pain. Just a few drops of oil on the beveled gears will do for now.
I also made sure that the toggle lever release mechanisms for both the swivel of the arm and the canting of the motor work properly and allow smooth motion.
I picked up an AKE 450mm TCT saw blade last week (it cost as much as the CC did!)
Now I just need to keep my eye out and see if I can pick up a couple of the appropriate trenching heads!

Probably best to watch eBayUK, they come up there from time to time.

I had a friend with a high quality 3D printer and I gave him a copy of your drawing of the elbow from the missing dust extraction assembly and he's already printed the part in ABS for me!

I'll be sending RG the spring, and plunger with rubber stopper, some time in the next week.

He also mentioned that there's no drive pin - and that he would like one. I had a look because I thought I had one - but no luck. But I found an old 1/2" stud with the correct 1/2" BSW thread.

Checking the thread is clean with a die nut.

Cut off the excess thread.

Trial fit in a spare CC inner flange.

Place on outer flange and mark required length.

Cut to final length, dress and test fit.

It's only an old beaten up stud/pin RG, but it will do the job (and you can always make a new one if you prefer). It needs a screwdriver slot cut in the end for when you want to fit or remove it - but I was feeling knackered and couldn't be bothered to dig out the dremmel. I'll chuck it in the parcel as is.

There are some on eBayUK now, but they are almost certainly all 8 1/2" cutting circle types with 1" bore - so not what you require.

You're a gentleman and a scholar! That's going over and above for sure.
Looking forward to getting the parts and getting the beast back to fully functioning (subject to the vagaries of NZ and Australia Post for timing no doubt).

Now I'll have to look for some nice solid, preferably cast, legs locally so I can commence a table build as that wasn't with the CC at the auction.
I may look to cast up a complete bracket to tie the rise and fall wheel and the locking lever to the table when I'm done too.

If you could post a pic once you get the dust extraction part fitted that would be good, I am missing that part, but my CC is older and might be different to yours

I scrapped a CC a little while ago, it needed a motor rewind and had been sat in the garden for a long time. I used the big top casting and the table legs to make a seat for the garden.
