Wadkin DR 30 insh
The DR bandsaw has been my hardest Wadkin to add to the family they seem to come up for sale in NSW or VIC, but I just got this one by chance/luck and it was only a 20 minute drive from where I live.
I have a Wadkin notification set on most media sites, but this one was just listed as a Industrial Band saw no mention of Wadkin in the description, it just showed up on FB "pick of the day" page, so I tried contacting the Seller, but a reply came back saying sorry already sold, I was gutted, so I went back and asked for a pic of the Tag and explained I collect Wadkin machines. Well the following morning to my surprise I get a message saying the Buyers car broke down and if I am interested could I collect within the hour, so naturally I dropped everything and bought a Wadkin 30 inch DR, BIG SMILE

Good one - it reminds me of my search for my PK. It took me 3yrs and was looking not only interstate but looking for bargains in NZ and UK (should shipping be reasonable which it isn't), then one day one popped up 10klms from my place at a very reasonable price - to say I was over the moon is an understatement!

Yes it just seems so random how these things can happen, with this one being so close I didn't take the time stripping it down, but the Seller had been lifting it around his shop with the table, which made me worried the casting might be broken, however when I looked at it, it is still in good condition with no previous repair, I got him to use soft slings to lift it onto my trailer.
It all adds to the fun of buying and restoring and eventually using old machinery
