The Test Number makes it a 1960 machine

The Control Panel was full of water, but I noticed 2 additional wires in there, so assuming Wadkin wired all their machines to have 5 heads

Tried straightening the Top shaft while applying heat but it snapped where the tapered pin slot is, so now need to find someone to make me some new shafts

I need one of these hand tightening locking bolts, because one has been snapped off leaving the old thread to drill out

Glad to see its been saved Nigel . What a sad sight for such a great machine. One good thing was it must have been cheap enough! Ive heard of worse sights. One guy spotted A broken Robinson tenoner upside down in a bin at a scrap metal yard. It stayed there.
That'll be a great thing to run when its fixed up. Interesting about the wiring . They must have wired them up but only connected what was being used after the order was placed for the head set up?
Ive got the same machine . I Love the thing so much!!!! After spending too many years cutting tenons all sorts of ways (edit, 4 different ways. I left out by Hand ) I forked out for my EC and had it trucked over from WA. It instantly made every tenon better, easier and faster than everything I did before. Its got five heads but Ive still only used the first two. Ive got plans for using the scribe heads if I get the go ahead for a particular job.

Hi Rob, Well considering the state of the machine, I may have paid too much, but I don't have years left on the clock to wait for another one to come along, so "in for a penny in for a pound", hopefully I can make it operational again and paint it my favourite colour. Cheers Nigel

I heard a story about a guy who paid top dollar for an ECA, had it delivered only to find out it was one of the old versions. Wadkin made an ECA where the 'A' stood for AC motor. They then did an EC and later another ECA.

I didn't know that they reintroduced ECA after changing to EC, did the older version ECA still have the ability to move the cutter blocks up & down together once the Tenon thickness had been set, if so what was the difference with the older ECA over the EC?

There is this one for sale in Australia at the moment and they are calling it an EHA, it comes with a solid sliding bed & no ability to move the blocks together

Well spotted, I changed it, it's a family forum.

The wheel is 150mm with a shaft size of 18.5mm approx.

Bugger, I have a spare 8" wheel off a 1" shaft (ex a Wadkin CK saw). But the cost of shipping anything internationally is crazy these days anyway.

I will most likely find these in the UK, I could use a pair of 8" (I think the hand wheels on top of the machine are 8", so they would not look out of place) with a bushing.

There are a whole bunch of Wadkin handwheels listed on eBayUK overnight. There's one 6" handwheel and at least two 8" handwheels. Hopefully you can find what you need.
