    Default Wadkin EQZ Rarity

I have an Instagram friend in the UK, Bruce Kenneth. He went out to buy an EQ spindle moulder and came home with two , the second an EQZ. I started asking more about what it was exactly, and found out its a rare machine . Bruce sent me these pictures and explained the differences and said it was OK to post on forum.
His is no 145. Basically a belt driven router in his version of it . It does single speed at 15000 rpm and is belt drive . It has a large drive pulley. Not sure how big , you can just get a glimpse past the spindle shaft. Its got a flat table with no fence slots, and very different fences which fit on the side of the top.

Thanks Bruce. And thanks Matty for the catalogue picture. I was sent a video of it running which Ill see if I can load , somehow ?

Last week I did a pre purchase inspection on a property that one of my clients was thinking of buying and lying in the back yard was one of these or so darn close in design, I will see if I can get permission to have a serious look at it. Also there was some other very interesting old machines that were partially covered in a shed would also be worth looking at. The property is going for auction in a couple of weeks.

Great Ray . Then chuck the pictures up here so I can have first choi no no , so we can tell you what it is . The EQ looks or is the same casting in the body . Just a different fence, and the slots in the top is the only difference you’d spot . Chances are it’ll be the EQ not the EQZ . You’ll see 40 EQ’s first, but you never know ? Even a rusty EQ has value as a resto job or for parts .

If there’s any lineshaft machinery I’m interested.
I have about 30 feet of overhead shaft running atm.
I have a Mortiser and scroll saw for it and would like other kit if it’s not too badly rusted/seized.
    Thanks H.
