I cant comment on its longevity yet, but it seems pretty resistant to wear. Your supposed to use their own brand of degreaser but I have found I get good results from removing any rust on a wire wheel and then thoroughly cleaning with clutch/brake cleaner before putting in the solution. I then use a water dispersant like WD40 followed by a liberal squirt of boesheild.

A good bit of progress, I got the wadkin logo taped off ready to spray. That yellow frog tape is cracking stuff. It doesn't bleed and comes off really easy.

A bit touch up with an artists brush and jobs a gud'n

I know the underside will not be seen but whilst the red was out it would be a shame not to

I had a go at brazing one of the broken casting and it did not go well. I bought one these CASTOLIN 3050 90 DEGREES GAS BRAZING/SOLDERING PLUMBING TORCH KIT C/W BOTTLE | eBay
thinking it would work, it was pants. I think I need some proper oxy gear.
I got a friend to stick weld the parts. I just need to clean the pin and bolt holes out

I got the motor back from the winders and gave it a go to check the bearing, my heart sank when it wouldn't run. The spindle was just going back and forth. I took it back to the winders to have him check it out and on the first start up it took a little while to come up to speed but then each start up it worked fine. He checked all of the amps and speed and even put a load on it during start up. Everything was fine.
I got a new NSK bearing, the original was hofman. I noticed this before but I thought I would give it a try.

After getting the motor back together I tried it and it wouldn't work again. I then had a lightbulb moment and set another motor away to improve the quality of the 3 phase and voila.

I got the motor sprayed and am just about ready to start putting it back together. I just need a decent pallet.
I really like doing the bronze cast tags

Let the fun begin There are a couple of handles missing from this, its lucky I have a good selection of wadkin stuff in my stash because small wadkin items seem to making astronomical money on ebay. Did any fellow wadkinites notice that RS lathe carriage handle sell for nearly £80

Fubar, this one has been a bit of a challenge but an old wadkin never dies it just needs a bit resuscitation

The electrics have been the bane of my life, for nearly 10 days I have been trying to sort the original starters and they just would not play nice, in the end I found some suitable Brooks ones which took me 2 hrs to install I still need to tidy the wires up and add a rope gasket for the door.

I found some flexible conduit in my stash and it cleaned up well
