    Default Wadkin PK Colours

These showed up on Instagram . LNC Machinery in the UK has one of them for sale. A nice sight. I realized something interesting which we discuss a lot . Wadkin Colours.
These pictures could be three original Wadkin PK colours and each one is different from the other. You don't ever get to see three in a row.
I think they look original. The one grey colour on each with red under coat showing through where the grey has been worn off.
What do you think . All Agree?

No, you've got that wrong. This is the original colour.

Or maybe it was green .

But seriously - the one on the left looks lightest, the centre one looks darkest, and the right-hand one looks like it has a bluish tint. All three are Generation 4 machines.

it is possible that Wadkin weren't fussy and just bought batches of an approximate "light grey' ("battleship grey"?), from whatever paint manufacturer offered the best price at the time.

It is also possible that different lighting may have caused different fading. It would be interesting to see what the paint looks like under the tags.

    Cheers, Vann.

I hope the guy that bought that Pink joke from the previous owner took it apart and dumped it straight into the stripping tank in prep for a re paint.
The guy that painted it had a kick back incident and he painted it pink sometime after that. He made the mistake of not using the riving knife . None of his instagram pictures of him sawing, which there are a few of, shows a riving knife. And then there is the hospital shot of his injury. Not a good idea on any table saw but a saw the size of the PK ! The kickback off one of these has deadly potential. So he painted it pink then sold it off later. The psychology of being thrashed by a machine? An accident has a lasting effect. Its hard to get your confidence back once bitten. But painting it PINK . That is a funny response.

The different Grey colours I think are Wadkin not caring of the differences when buying. Checking the paint under badges would be good. I don't think there would be much difference though. All my removed badges shows a cleaner better quality grey colour but not a huge fading difference. If any its very slight.
