It is not hard to find the source if you copy the title into google it comes up as the first 3 out of 4 links. The fourth being a blog that auto copies posts from the woodworkforum.

Hi Sion, It is a fine looking machine isn't it!

I have never tried or seen anyone use Sheerlegs, Derricks, or Gyns, although the principles are still being used on large scales in boat yards etc. They have also been around for a long long time.

In you photos you are doing it in a paddock where the feet can presumably sink somewhat into the earth for footing. Do you think it would be as stable on hard ground like concrete. Or would it be likely to slip and need some sort of pivot fixing to the floor?

    Dale,

It's not too late, you still can. If your post is locked, I'm confident the moderators would be able to help if you ask.

Peter makes a valid point, this web site has been very generous to share this difficult to acquire information, and they do ask on each page to be cited.

As you have taken the information from several of their pages, it is probably proper etiquette to cite each page. If your not sure what to do, all you need to do to comply with their request is copy the text under the heading "cite this page" (it's on the right hand side of the page) and paste it above or below the information you have copied.

    Cheers,

    Camo
