To the Group.
A good friend, who passed away about a year ago gave me a pendulum wall clock he assembled back in the middle 1980's. The clock works and cabinet was in poor condition but I was able to restore the cabinet and get the clock running. However, the chimes and strike springs had taken a set and would not work. Regrettably, I found the clock works to be in need of a complete overhaul. I was fortunate to find the exact works, in the oriiginal manufacturer's box, that was manufactured in 1983. After cleaning and lube, the "new" works worked perfectly.
I upgraded the single 9.3 lb weight to two side by side weights and a new hanger pully that could accomadate two side by side weights who's combined weight is the same as the original single weight, but shorter. I also refinished the dark cheery wood cabinet and replaced the clock face with a slightly larger diameter face.
The clock runs and looks like a brand new piece of art. (Photo attached if I can figure out how to do it) Unfortunately, my friend did not give me the written material that was included with the kit. If you know where I can purchase copies of the manuals, I would be grateful if you would pass that information to me. If you have the manuals that were provided with a similar clock of that era, I and would be grateful if you would send me a copy, I would be willing to pay for any cost incurred.
