Need help to locate a timber yard
Dear People,
I live at Mackay on the Central Coast of Queensland. I enjoy building small boats. The only source of timber here is at a couple of big hardware stores that cater to handymen/ persons, and builders. The staff, while very nice, helpful people, are not very well educated when it comes to specific timbers, like Hoop Pine or Oregon.
What I would like is a timber yard where the people who run it know what you are talking about when you ask for clear Oregon.
If I knew of such a yard within "reasonable" distance, I could email/write /ring an order for an entire dinghy load of timber which I could pick up in a ute when ready.
Does anyone know of such a yard?
Looking forward to any replies.
Bobbo.
