    Default Help with website.

I've received a couple of reports from people trying to access my web site, that they are unable to see any pictures. They are getting Error 403 when they click on the little placeholder square, which seems to show that they don't have the appropriate permissions. I have no problem seeing it, either from here, in-post links or from the toolbar. The problems seem to be independent of O/S or browser. I've never had any similar reports before.

Could some kind souls please click on the 'Website button below, then let me know whether or not you can see pictures in the website, and what browser & O/S you are using. Also, any suggestions are welcome.

    Many thanks,
    Alex

    Hi Alex
Using Windows 11 and Firefox, I was able to get into your website from the link in your post without any problem.

    Hope that helps

Thanks to those who have replied. Chesand and Wimmera Jack, if you click on the thumbnails in Gallery and/or Items for Sale, do you see the full pictures?

Yes, I was able to see the pictures. I tried 3 or 4 thumbnails and all opened.

    Win 10 (22H2)
    Google chrome 125.0.6422.76
    Edge
    125.0.2535.51
    Opera one
    109.0.5097.80

None of the above browsers show any image or even an icon / thumbnail, if I use developer mode I can see the error 403's

From the developer tools I can grab the url of one of the failing images 403 Forbidden
Using invoke-webrequest in Powershell I trimmed the url back and can get to https://www.springall-fine-woodwork...._Fine_Woodwork but get a 403 on everything else above starting at /Gallery
Using the website link for Gallery opens the url Gallery

I dont think your permission errors are stemming from the images themselves but from a lower level branch that the images are hosted via.

Thanks all. My suspicion is that browser standards have improved in the many years since I built the site, and my page hasn't kept up. I think I'll do a full new site using a modern template/builder.
    Thanks all for your help.

    Hello Alex

Windows 10 No pics or icons visible on the website using MS Edge, Google or Opera

    Pics are fine with Firefox.

Facebook's good on all 4 browsers.

Bit late but hope this is of some help.

    Cheers - Neil
