    Hmmm, how can you say that with such certainty Dave? They could have cut another 8-10" board off either side of that (both of which would be fully quarter sawn).

    I can say 100% that it is not Cypress.

    Yep, you could be right there Brett, I didn't even consider the possibility of a couple of nice quarter sawn boards being taken off the side. That most recent pic. is a rough sawn side and doesn't really add much to assist with identification for me. If the house was only 10-20 years old it could even be Radiata.

    I think the second post pic could well be Radiata. The furry one looks like DF again.
