Default Are typical H3 pine pickets from Bunnings supposed to be trimmed?

I bought all my pickets (1500 x 70 x 22mm H3 pine) from Bunnings. This for a nice front fence, painted, etc.

I notice two things. One is that they all actually measure about 1510mm in length. The second is that they have one very rough end (a bit splintered sometimes, very rough end grain) and one nicer end (but still a little rough).

Now I’m wondering if I am supposed to trim the ends off the pickets? I would get a much, much cleaner end with my mitre saw and I would get them to a more exact length.

Question is: are they supposed to be trimmed before putting up?

My thinking is - if you think they would look better in your project, yes do it.
    It's your fence.

Trimming is OK as the timber paling should be treated to its core. For a supplier to claim H3 level treatment protection they must "ensure that their process has achieved the required level of penetration to meet the stated H level specification."

Yep I most likely will for aesthetics. But I simply wondered if the intent was they should be trimmed? Ie is that why they finish them roughly and a bit longer?
