Well I'm still waiting for the tablecloth to get back from the drycleaners, so you just get the old floorboards again for now
I got a bit more filing, sanding, and polishing done on the levercap. Also cut a bit of a taper on the top of the blade.
I spent some more time flattening and sharpening the business end of the blade too. This D2 stuff can make a mess of your waterstones if you are not careful, DAMHIKT
I rounded the nose of the levercap a bit as well, but no time to test it today, I did get a few photos on the verandah before dark though .

When I was getting the camera out of the cabinet to take the pics of the plane , I spotted this Rock Wallaby beside the house. So I put on the 50-150 Sigma lens, snapped the Wallaby, then used the same lens for the plane pics.

Yes, that is a stunner! Well done! I would like to say something smart but I am out of words.
Some technical data would be good too.
Do you have a name for it or does 'Mr. Authority' stick?

You could also name it 'The Rock' and use the Wallaby as name giver ;-)

Thanks Paul.
Just measured with the Lufkin tape measure that was on the lounge room floor.
230mm long, by about 56.5mm wide at the widest spot, which is at the mouth, and 130mm high at the top of the tote. And it weighed in at 2140 grams on the electronic kitchen scales.
The blade is 50mm wide at the cutting end.Brad.

That Brad, is stunning. Forget the tablecloth, you will not find one good enough.

As to the name for my plane, I am happy to go with whatever is decided.
Mr Authority, and The Rock have already been put forward. Any other suggestions ?
I got the letter punches out this afternoon and had a practice on a scrap of brass, I thought about putting “IRONWOOD “ across the levercap, but I am not confident I can get it neat enough. I would have to put the letters in a curve, because if I went straight across the letters are too wide. So for now, that’s off the table, maybe later if I can think of a way to make it look right. A Fiber Laser would be handy , but they are a bit expensive for my budget.Brad.

That one is going to be hard to beat - I don't envy the job of the Judges. Nice work overall, but the polishing is quite lovely.
