That's a winner. I love it. So much neater than just putting a thread into the body.

    Well done I'd say.

    Show off!!

It looks excellent, I was wondering if you were going to bolt the knob through, or tap the hole in the body of the plane.

    Cheers Matt.

Great idea P. And much more useful than a hole for hanging !!

    Yep, very neat!

I was wondering how you were going to organise it so the fixing wouldn't stick out past the sides. Looks like you opted to make the head of the sleeve-nut the same thickness as the side material? Neat, & adds a nice decorative touch to the exposed wood.

So what's next? You can't stop here, you're really getting in the groove....

    Cheers,
    IW

    Cheers,
    Thanks Ian.
Next? I'm really impressed with the dovetail technique and would like to have a crack at that but I don't know what to incorporate it into. I really don't need another plane because, although they didn't admit it, my father and grandfather seem to have been collectors. It will have to wait for a while anyway because I have a sailing skiff to get ready for it's 50th birthday launch.

It's not if you need another plane, but rather do you want one. I'd say the majority here have more planes than they strictly speaking need. Although no one hardly admits that.... [emoji12]

    Excuse me,
I only ever, at any one point of time have only the exact amount of tools that I feel satisfied with,
    Never any more.[emoji6]

    Sorry for the digression.

    Cheers Matt.
