Paul, I’m definitely aiming for each facet to have a super gloss finish ,but without me in shot.
If you keep this to yourself ,my cunning plan is,if I polish the body to a spectacular reflection gloss.
The judges will be literally blinded by my brilliance.
And wont be able to see my little errors hear or there.
Brilliant a.
Yeah I know the plan has a few issues to sort out, but it’s a start.
An a picture just for you
Cheers Matt

That is definitely a Matt finish or is it a "purple patch " (of a blade?)
Good luck with the judges being "Blinded by the Light." (Apologies, to Manfred Mann, Bruce Springsteen and anybody else who wants one.)

Challenge 2020 - 2021 Simplicity
The Body(Cristine) is becoming a bit scary, ever time I look at her I come up with another idea, I think I’m becoming obsessed,
If any body remembers Arnie Cunningham from the Steve king movie Cristine, you’ll get were I’m coming from.
I’ve spent the morning letting in that little bit of steel into the lever cap,and im toying with another idea to try on the lever cap.
Please ,if I suggest another “Time Extension” send help[emoji6].
Cheers Arnie.

You Sir May go to the top of the class,
First I hogged out most of the waste with a Dremel carbide bit, then a small grinder wheel.
That was slow going but because I didn’t want to stuff it up.
An final yes, a little pushing, (peening sounds so common [emoji6]) on the brass just around the top edge were I had probably about 1/4 mm gap on one side.
Cheers Arnie.

Time extension???? Your almost done!
I’ve only got a block of timber so far. I did manage to order a couple of carving chisel today. Thought I might need them if I’m carving[emoji2957]

If I had not already removed it, I would have taken a pic of the sign SWMBO hung in my shed:
THE BEATINGS WILL CONTINUE UNTIL MORALE IMPROVES

Matt
Does that mean stoning is back in favour and permissible? (I must check if our insurances cover stone damage).
Now, on a more serious note, could you enlarge on the steel insert for your lever cap. I am imagining a couple of reasons.
1. Strength for the thread
2. Complimenting the steel sandwich beneath the front bun.
3, Pure aesthetics
4. Because you can
5. Additional complexity to curry favour with the panel of judges (commonly referred to as the "wow" factor of which we have already seen so much)
6. You are unaware that the human lifespan is finite and our time should be spent wisely (scratch that one: our time is being spent theraputically and, therefore, wisely )
7. All of the above.
