That’s not any kind of real food as it totally ignores the 4 basic food groups; meat, pastry, gravy and ketchup.

And look at how it was served! Not only was a plate used it was displayed on some artsy-fartsy serving tray put together from old metal tools.

Hrumph. Impressed with the progress on The Body; but think how much more you could have achieved with proper nutrition.

I have some very nice Hairy Oak that would make some fine-looking tools.

After you've tried to bully Bull oak into a plane body, you will covet it quite a bit less avidly, methinks. Bull-oak is a very hard, very recalcitrant wood, but gorgeous indeed when you finally manage to lick it into shape.

OTH, the Hairy oak I've used was quite good to work with (one of the best of the casuarinas), & equally spectacular. I'd reckon you should grab that offer with both hands!!

    Cheers,

Hi Doug. I had never seen it before you and Paul posted photos of your knives. One day I'll have to get a hold of some.

A little progress again, but my arms and shoulders are bit sore.

I also see if Ian picks up on anything and if I’m still in his good books(assuming of course I am)afterwards.

Yes we getting a bit mouthy hear.

    Cheers Matt.

Not too hard, Matt - you are protecting the front of the mouth with a bit of thin plate.

That's a perfectly good way to go too. I've done the same a couple of times, so I can get a bit more lusty with the file, but sometimes the protector just takes up even more room & generally gets in the way, so in the end I decided it's easier for me to just leave a bit of spare metal at the front of the mouth and tidy it up when fitting the blade.

It's swings & roundabouts, whatever works best for you is best...

    Cheers,
    IW

Some more curves arrived on the “Body” today, plus the mouth opening is nearly there, I won’t open the mouth anymore till I have my chatter block in place, and that won’t go in till the body is peened together,an that won’t happen till I figure out something else!!!.
But I’m happy with the look so far.

And last picture is thank You Paul, for the Forest Red Gum [emoji106].

    Cheers Matt

Looking the goods there Matt, gotta love those curvaceous lines, another celebrity springs to mind while viewing the front end , I won’t mention any names .

And on a more serious note, please wash and iron that tablecloth before the next photoshoot, or I’m afraid that the judges will be taking that into account when scoring the Body.

I will have words with the domestic staff, I’m sorry Brad, you were put in a position, to have no other choice but to make a judgment,my humble apology’s.

Matt, there’s no need to apologise, as I am sure it a case of there not being enough time between breakfast and an early morning photoshoot to get the tablecloth washed and ironed and back on the table in time.
A simple fix could be to get the photoshoot done before breakfast is served.
    Brad.
