    UPDATE:
I cut the angles from the planes throat. A 65 degree angle and a 45. The blade will rest on the 45 degree angle. The 65 degree angle is 1 mm off from square. I have photos on my Blog here. (I really need to figure out why I can't post images in the forum)

I'm thinking it will not matter that its only a little off. So for now I let it be (I was worried I'd mess it up more trying to get it square.) The shavings will never know the difference...I hope.

    Good progress.

Not sure what you meant that the 65 degrees is 1mm off square. If it results in the mouth being unevenly wide then it might cause some issues depending what you want the plane to do. But you can correct that when opening the mouth up to the right width.

May be "square" is not the best term in this case. Where the 65 degree angle meets the top of the block its not the same distance to the front of the block. One side is 1 mm longer.

That discrepancy shows up with the pencil line in one pic. You could correct it easily with a chisel or another plane - but as you say, the shavings won't care. Good progress so far.
