I got a little done today.

    Started the carving.

And did the relief panels to the top of the plane.

    More tomorrow.

    Regards to you all .
    Pete.

    Pete,
I can tell your doing something special ain’t you.

Is there going to be a theme to the carving ??.

    Cheers Matt.

That looks great! I first thought when you wrote carving that you would chisel out the bed for the blade. I did not expect that. Awesome

Great work! Its going to be amazing in size and decoration (and I'm sure it will plane wood too).

If Pete changes his mind it could become a headboard for a bed,

Impressive; I’m pretty useless at carving.

How did you form the relief panels? I can see the profiled scrapers; were they used at the end just to refine the curves?

I routered the relief panels with CNC then cleaned them up using the scraper and the carving chisels.
I wasn’t going to carve them out by hand too! It’s a mission doing the carving I’ve already got to do.
It takes so long because I have to stop every few minutes to hone the chisels. The Crows Ash is incredibly hard on the cutting edges.
    Anyway, I’ll keep pressing on.
Here’s where I’m up to so far today.

    Enjoy!
    Pete.

Whoops, was I supposed to have this plane finished already, bugger!

No one issued me with a “did not finish”, so I will continue on.

My apologies for the long delay.

    Started carving out the throat.
Needs a lot more work but at least it’s back on the bench.

    Regards

    Pete

It doesn’t matter it’s not finished, but it’s great too see ya back at it.
Really looking forward to see how you progress with it Pete.

    Cheers Matt.
