@Chief Tiff - you literally made me laugh out loud.:2tsup:
From Google translation:
"We are not allowed to. Ian said so!"

Ps: Was not going to comment during this period where court was in session, but you know about rules:
"Rules are for the obedience of fools and the guidance of wise men." (Douglas Bader, who was legless when he made the observation.)
Right at the beginning there was a suggestion that an award for the worst puns could be made. Over the last 9 months I have observed that the majority of your posts have included at least one; some have been obscure but nearly all have have excelled in the fields of groanability and cringeworthiness.
In the immortal words of Wayne Campbell: "We're not worthy! We're not worthy!"
Hate to be pedantic, but it was Bader's commanding officer who said that to him (P. Brickhill - "Reach for the sky"). It seems Bader didn't need to be told this, he was already following that dictum, which is how he came to be legless...
:)
There goes me chances.
Funny thing is that I recall Bader (Kenneth Moore) saying this in the film and yet I looked it up and it was attributed to Harry Day (Bader's CO) in the film. :? I suppose if I can't remember last week, what chance do I have of 1956?
:D

OK, the judges have deliberated, and fortunately, our results were uncannily similar. It was a photo-finish, with just a whisker separating each of the top 5 contenders. But someone had to get a half-mark more than everyone else, and that person is…..
Wait for it……
Chief Tiff!

Of course, everyone was a winner – you’ve all got working planes and learnt a lot about plane making. So many are unique as well as functional, and you built up a great co-operative, with blades flying hither & yon & good contacts made. I guess I got roped into paying more attention to the individual builds one way or another & saw the progress so I wasn’t as surprised as one of the other judges who was deeply impressed by the level of workmanship evident (of course, you all took pics only from the best sides, didn’t you?).
I was going to make a list of “honourable mentions”, but where would I stop? Everyone deserves an honourable mention, be it for the quality of their build, their high level of design aesthetic, their assistance to fellow challengers or their ability to co-opt found/scrounged/recycled materials, & so on. So just because one person got the nod, it’s a bit like the Tour de France – a different day, an oil-slick on the road (or a stupid spectator) an erratic headwind, and the one who got the day’s Guernsey could have been someone entirely different! So congratulate yourselves & take a deep bow.
:clap3: :clap3:
What else? Oh yes, I almost forgot (:D ) – the winner of the draw is…..

Picko! :yippee:
(So, Picko, PM me an address to post them to & I’ll get them on their way asap).
And now the Great Plane Challenge of 2020 (& 2021!) is done & dusted. Well done the lot of you...
Cheers,
IW
PS. I remember some sort of commemorative trophy was promised to the winner, I'll sort that out in due course, Chief..
Well done Chief, a well deserved win Mate.
And Picko, I am jealous, I would have loved to win Ian’s wonderful prize.
And a special thanks to all the other entrants, it’s been an entertaining ride.
:o Wow; thank you, esteemed judges!
I am truly humbled to have my offering so highly praised; and I would like to thank all the other entrants along with the watchers who offered help and encouragement throughout the last nine months. This has been a brilliant journey and I’ve really enjoyed travelling with everyone else.
Congratulations Chief, the nuke has nuked them all. It is an outstanding plane and definitely deserved to win!
Thanks to all and to the judges for this great experience.
