How bad is it?

I like the mod to her uppers.
I estimate the white line is about where her as-designed sheer was.
The flush deck cuddy is very neat.
As you say though, not much sleeping space.
Or sitting head-room.

You have a nice looking boat and I agree that the mods look very good , i would not have recognized it as a Hartley 14, .

A boom tent will give you plenty of space to sleep 1 overnight , or 2 if very friendly.

But the boat looks good and from the pictures sails well.

With the flush deck, raised sheer and Gunter-rigged main, I think that little lady stopped being a Hartley fairly early on.

It's a very attractive update and modification of the design though. Performance Hartley
