The hull is now stripped revealing that most of it has rot, except the areas of body filler and silastic! It still has enough existing shape to make a set of plans from though! Most of the fittings were still with the hull except for the windscreen and a rail on the stern. The planking and stern look to be meranti.

Mechanicaly the engine has been full of water for many years and one cylinder has frozen and broken the bore out, it could be sleved, $$$"s. Other cylinders and valve seats have rust. Everything below the pistons is in excellent condition and it has a reground cam of absolutely huge duration and hollow body adjustable lifters. The propellor looks to have been used as a rotary hoe with a bend in the prop shaft to suit, I had to heat the prop shaft drive sleve to bright orange all over with a big puller attached to remove the drive gear out of the hull.

Currently I am taking measurements and paterns before completely disassembling the hull to use for paterns. I have been researching epoxy/lapstrake ply construction to copy the old hull and considering my current boat has all the same running gear it will not be a huge expense to transfer the engine between hulls.
