spent a couple of hours with Dad working out how we were going to do the chines and strakes... Took our time with the first one in order to get them all done right.

got the rest in after refining our methods a bit... pretty happy with the outcome.

We start off by spot welding them in with hot glue then glue them up properly with the proper glue once happy with how they are sitting.

i will be filling them and then sand and glass them in.

    And all glued in!!

Flip a photo upside down to see how they look, there are a lot of optical illusions with the curves,

After a quiet week on the boat i got stuck in.

Dad came around and helped with the strakes and chines, well I was non stop making up batches of goo and he was putting it on the boat... what a legend!!

I officially hate mixing q-cells and cabosil... so i got a cheap hand held electric mixer and now it is easy...lol

sand and sand and sand to get the strakes right, and started glassing.

i obviously didn't round the strakes and chines enough as i am having air bubbles form everywhere along the strakes. No matter what i did i couldn't rectify it so looks like i'll have a fair bit of fix up work to do.

And the other side is glassed... now to wait for it to cure and then commence sanding again!!
Might need to turn the heater on to speed up the process

finally got rid of all the bubbles after having to make repairs to my dremel that failed early on in the piece. I have been able to tweak my filleting technique which is a plus... soooo much better!!

Its been pretty full on, grinding, sanding, grinding, sanding, sanding, sanding.............

Once this cures then a light sand, re-glass, then fairing and finally the primer before i flip!!! a few months behind schedule but i have been able to sort out a couple of issues.

Great work! Looking forward to the rest of the build. What date did you actually begin?

got to work.. sanding then re-glassed the chines and strakes.
After inspection again tonight i have a few minor issues that will need a bit of attention but much happier with how they look so will grind a fill a couple of spots and then fair and prime.
