Engine mount needed
Greetings everyone,
I need to find a new or used replacement for one of my engine mounts which I inadvertantly destroyed when installing my inboard Yanmar 2qm15 diesel engine.
There is no brand name on the mount, only the number "M5". But I found out they are called "Globe Ever-Stay Motor Mounts" made by Globe Rubber Products. Here is an image of the same engine mount–

Defender.com had some advertised on their website and I wrote to them but they tell me they've sold out of stock and that Globe NO LONGER make engine mounts! It’s a long shot I know, but I am hoping that someone might have an Ever-stay M5 lying around that they'd didn't need and were willing to sell it to me.
The dimensions of my Ever-Stay M5 mount are - 1.5 inches high, 2.5 inches wide, 4.5 Inches long, with mounting hole centres at 3.25 inches.
Thanks,
bluey

Hi redxDon't know if it's any help but I found this US site www.pyiinc.com - which claims their R&D Marine engine mounts are replacement Yanmar engine mounts. Look at their product list in their website under drive train or google replacement yanmar engine mounts and select the pyiinc link to a pdf file.

Hi bagman,
I was hoping to find a mount similar to what I already had. I've been looking at alternatives and they all seem to have different specs to mine regarding their height, length, stud sizes and hole centres. If I have to I will buy four new mounts but it will mean making changes to my engine bed to allow them to fit. The engine bed is fibreglassed in so it will be a major job.
Our local boatbuilder tells me he has an old qm series engine with mounts attached that might do the job. I'll have a look at them on the weekend, but I feel I'm being back into a corner where the only way out is to make big alterations to the engine bed.
I checked out the website you found and they recommend their 800-037Y mount. Googling around shows they are priced around $120 -$140 each so it's gonna hurt a bit if I have to go down that road, but I will keep them in mind as an option. Thanks for pointing me to the website,
redx.

Just an updating my quest for an engine mount..
I have just ordered a new mount from Polyflex in Queensland. It seems their PM127(90} mount is a replacement the the M5. so all is good.
Thanks for the help.
