The Gilla
After much searching I have finally found a timber boat to restore, yes she is in a bad way, boat the hull in sound. It was a slow trip bringing her home from the centrals coast to the Pittwater but she took on no water on the three hr trip. Looking forward to enjoying her this summerIMG_1238.jpgIMG_1253.jpgIMG_1258.jpgIMG_1261.jpg

I reckon I saw this or one like it on Gumtree recently.
Enjoy the journey.

that's the one. Hopefully I can get her in the boat shed this weekend and see just how bad a shape she is in. I am building a frame this week to float her onto so I can winch her out. Has any one got any tips on how best to secure her to the frame? Cheers

Given her condition a few nails will do, though rachet straps are more commonly employed. You're a brave man or you see more than those photos show. Don't pull the straps too tight, she doesn't look like she can tolerate much more.

Haha... Bit of both i think, i can see the potential in her, we looked at buying a restored boat, but felt she wouldn't truely be ours. Ratchet straps will work, thd hull is surprisingly sound, she was glassed over at some stage

Old 'glass over a wooden hull often hides a lot of sins, so check it carefully.
