Retirement ! , jeez , this is my second retirement , and I'm still pushing myself as hard as I can , just don't get as much done as I used to though.
Maybe the next WBF I can take a nice Tassie motorsailer over , even sail it over , that would be nice
The old bloke that has his boat moored next to HS , and I , reckon the next step for us though will be a motorised wheelchair , with paddle wheels and flotation .
Can't you see the red flag , bobbing up and down through the swell ?.
We also have a very big garden.

I need to interconnect the DSC radio , autotiller and chart plotter , does anyone know of someone west of Melbourne , east of Adelaide , or perhaps in Tassie , who is good at this sort of caper ?.

Plans for WBF have been changed to 2013 and I will be looking for crew, you are on the list Rob. I had an old mate (70) aboard the 26' stealy "Dunno" on the return cruise from Devoport via King Island. Max had dicky knees which the cold got to so I did the night watch and Max did some of the day shift when warm enough.
What is a DSC radio?

DSC is Digital Selective calling.
If I have my VHF radio connected to the chartplotter , then activation of the DSC will transmit not only the basic details of the boat , but also its GPS position.
And the auto tiller needs to be able to talk to the chartplotter too.
Dunno about 2013 , I'm having enough trouble dealing with 2011 !.

Well ,learning time I guess.
I was hoping to have experienced help to completely de-rig HS , but he didn't turn up.
Getting her stripped down isn't hard , getting her back together again might be "interesting"!.
I'm taking lots of photos , and labelling everything.
I'm certainly learning , whatever happens !.

Bruce , the plan has been to take HS across on the ferry , then trailer her down to Cygnet.
I thought perhaps , while in Cygnet , I could take her to the Wooden Boat Centre at Franklin , then come back to Cygnet , before sailing with the Cygnet mob to Hobart , and then after the festival , sailing back again , to Cygnet.
I did get in contact with the centre , and I won't be sailing there.
I had a course of acupuncture today , I'm hoping to be able to start on HS again tomorrow.

Rob,
I think you should be able to sail to the Wooden Boat Centre but I suggest you give them a call on (03) 6266 3586 to confirm how easy it is to sail up towards Franklin.Kev

I did ring them Kev , and exchanged e-mails.
I'll leave it at that.
I've got a really good engine in her anyways , and enough fuel for a days motoring at least.

OK Rob, now I understand what you mean. I was there last year and WBC is not far either by road or water. Quite protected waters if you did want to sail her there as a shakedown prior to setting off to Hobart.
I hope the acupuncture has worked for you, so good luck with the rest of the exercise.
