A new Hartley TS16
Perhaps a mod can add these to my old thread of the same name.
It has been a long time between posts as we have not had a weekend off together to work on the boat. We have finally started to epoxy the ribs. At this stage I have three coats on one side of the ribs and hope to do the other side this weekend. I cant wait to stand them up so it finally starts to have a boat shape.

Also the photo link wont work, any ideas why?

A good afternoons work and we finally get to stand it up properly! Getting the stern angle right was the tricky bit.

Nice to see your progress. You suddenly find there is much less space to work in when the frames are spread plumb and parallel and taking up the space of a boat.
When will the stringers go on?

she looks good, it's nice to get the frames up and run your eye over them to imagin the ply skin on them.
yes rob it's amazing its the first time you get to realize the full size of the task ahead when the frames go up.

Nah just very exciting. The shape of her looks great. We are currently working on the stem as you can see which still needs to be bevelled and then epoxied so I am hoping to do that and the keelson this weekend.
It will look even better when the stem and keelson is on.
We have very limited days available to work on the boat so it will probably still be a while till we get the stringers on.
And yes there is much less roon in my shed now, might need to tidy up a bit

I've got bad news mate, she's reached the point where it's going to be hard to forget about her
One thing, despite all the mucking about up to now, she'll start looking boat like very quickly.

Yeah thats the stem. One side has been sawed and chiseled out but has not been planed and sanded smooth. The other side has not been done yet.

Shaped and fitted the rebates for the Keelson today. Slow process with a saw and a chisel and nothing really to show for it.
Should get the timber for the gunwhales, chines and stringers in the next few days.

Still waiting on the timber to arrive
Heading off to Bunnings though to buy a table saw to strip it down.
There is an ozito one there with a three year warranty for around 100 bucks, cant go too far wrong I reckon.

Just take your time setting the saw up and let the saw do the work, DON'T RUSH !!!! I know a lot of people will not agree with cheap brand power tools and i was one a few years back, I have some Ozito and GMC tools and for what they were purchased for they are are fine, the ozito belt sander has proven to be indestructable and is a dead copy of an Hitachi that cost 3 times the amount
