Default Inaugural Glen-L Gathering Port MacQuarie October

For anybody interested, we are having an Inaugural Aussie Glen-L Wooden Boat Buidlers Gathering at Edgewater Holidy Park at Port MacQuarie on the weekend of October 25th this year. Anybody interested is welcome to come long for a looksee. Love to see anybody that has or is or wants to build/building a Glen-L boat (or any wooden boat I guess). More detail on the Glen-L forum, but happy to answer any questions here. All things going well, I will bring my Gentry in a mostly completed state for you to see and maybe ride in if all goes well.

    See you there...

    Glenn.

    Default sounds good!

Sounds good mate, have you had much interest throughout Australia? Would really like to come over for a look see, not sure if its possible at this stage. I haven't really started my project, it would be great to meet some people doing the same thing. Keep me posted.

    Thanks

    Pat.

    Hi Pat,

We have something like 21 people coming at present, and something like 10 boats. Should be a fun event.

Tried to update my original thread but it is apparently too old so I must build too slow

Very nice . I was looking at Glenn L plans for some time. Still could be tempted some day. How many layers of varnish needs to be applied in total and what are you using ?.

Also what is the power plant?.

    Cheers

    Thanks Plutub.
There will be 10-14 coats eventually, straight spar varnish, 3 so far. Power is a Marine Power 350 Chevy, 320HP MEFI5, Velvet Drive 1:1 tranny. Grab some plans and start building, you won't look back.
