    Default Keel laying ceremony..................

Well here's a little update of some fun we had with the boat last night. Tradition requires the laying of the keel be recorded by ceremony so we had a keel laying ceremony.
The first lady signed the keel, the kids placed silver coins the full length of the keel and i gave the stem a small taste of champs just to whet her apetite for completion.
It was just a little fun for the kids and a chance to re-live an old tradition.
Actually it was a BBQ disguised as a keel laying.

The signing by the first lady. There was a curtsey or 2 but the pic won't work

Here i am telling some old maritime stories to the kids

My daughter Finlay placing a coin.

The kids in the cockpit..............i'm not sure any would make a ride along mechanic.

I'm not sure any of them realised the boat is upside down, but they had a great time anyway.

A bit more drinking and a great afternoon was had by all.

And finally a pic of the boat as she lies today.

Good on you Pricey. A nice tradition, especially as it gives family and friends a chance to see what you've been up to, and why they haven't seen you for a while...Fantastic to have kids involved; you never know what good you might have done there, just showing them that people can still actually make cool things instead of just buying plastic ones.

Thanks Rob. It is all part of the experience. Like i said the kids thought it was great and my wife enjoyed it as well.

She's in a good mood about the boat at the moment so i will drop it on her to pay for the new motor next month .
