    Default Outboard motor box

Hi I have been asked to build a box for a 25 horse outboard.
The box itself is easy. 3/4 marine ply with some stiffeners in each corner. & a hinged lid.
What I am struggling with is the cradle inside the box.
I want the same 3/4 in ply in 2 places but I want to cut a u or v, that matches the profile of the engine.

How could I draw this pattern onto the ply before I cut it?

    Hi there
I take it this box is being built to transport or store the outboard motor.
Do you intend to lay the motor in the box or stand it up in the box ? Either way if I was building it I would have a false transom frame positioned in the box so that I could bolt the engine securely in place using the outboard's cradle and then you would be able to pack newspaper, rags or foam beans etc as padding around it.
    Good luck

    Welcome to the forum.

We'll need a little more information about this box. Will it support the outboard on a boat, is it simply a cover, maybe to to cover a well mounted outboard?

A simple box is easy enough though 3/4" plywood is way more then you need to transport an outboard, when 1/2" will do on a 25 HP outboard, which typically are in the 150 - 180 pound range.
