    Default Planking Timbers Qld

Hi I have a 38ft timber carvel planked boat, and I need to replace a few planks ( below water) when I get haul out in a few months, I am told that the planks are huon pine, I am on the Gold Coast, Qld where can I find suitable planking timbers, do I have to use huon pine or can I use a more ready available timber in Qld, any recommendations for timber suppliers can try.

No, you don't have to use the same species, but you do what one with similar physical attributes.

Hi - I could get you New Guinea Wau-Beech if that was suitable. Lengths up to 4.3 metres. I also have heaps of Qld white beech up to 3.6metres and some huon pine in short lengths. Pm me if any interest. Clive
