    Default Pot Plant holder ????

Ok, now I have your attention, I was having dinner at the parents the other day and mum commented she would like a plant stand come pot plant holder in the garden in the shape of a small boat, as there garden is all in a marine theme this seemd quite reasonable, so, the question is does anyone know where I could purchase plans for something like a small displcement hull, the overall length we are talking about is only about 6' or so, I was thinking something along the lines of a scaled down yellow tail etc, any suggestions would be appreaciated, not looking for a freebie but do want something looking fairly traditional as we want it cleared (epoxy) etc etc and besides it's for mum so it has to be right

    Hi KEV,

do your own thing mate. 1 sheet of 3mm mdf and draw out what you think your Mum wants. That way she can see what she may get and you also have all the plans on one sheet of material.

    Sounds like a fun project.
    Good luck.

Download Gregg Carlson's "Hulls" & have a play.

There might even be an existing design with it you can use. It comes with hundreds.

How 'traditional' does it have to be - style & structure ?
Would a one sheet skiff fill the bill?

Or one of Hannu's very small boats?

some great info there, thanks guys.

Paul, we (dad and I) were going to do just that as at first the skiff style was what she was talking about but then as things often do, I was showing dad some photo's of the yellow tails off the forum (yea your all famous) and Mum goes........ thats the one just like that..... 'cause her dad had one similar when they were younger living on Bribie and as Pop passed away a few yaers ago dad and i think we will do something like that for a bit of sentiment and besides it will be good for a practice run before i start the Hartley
