    Default Progress on boat.

Thought I had a thread started on this, but can find it now?

Any way,, working on the floors, soles. aft is done, working my
    way forward.

Need some wide stock to make the crutches under the seats, might
just glue up some pieces. Rough when you only deal in scraps.

That little piece in the front was a real bugger. Several were thrown
in the trash before it was over with.

Still shooting for a May launch.

If so, I can move this there if you want.

No, I thought I had one on just the boat project.

Yep, those types of weird cuts can be a pain to "figure out". I use the "over and under" method. This is making an accurate tracing or template of the lower and upper planes of the surfaces you need to pick up angles from.

For example the lower template of your little nightmare piece would have shared two common edges, inside against the next floor board and where it butts against the stringer. The bottom tracing would have been smaller then the top one, because of the flare in the topside planks. Since there are two straight edges to use as reference, the only thing you have to get right is the thickness.

This is much more difficult to describe then do. On compound curved surfaces this method gets interesting and where I usually resort to cussing, other methods and heavy drinking.

It appears you've done a right handy job of it Brad, keep up the good work, May is coming.

Well, at least I'm doing it right!
