    Default Another Project - Cherub

Working on the basis that you can never have enough boats ..! I bid and won a nice little boat on ebay.

Having picked it up today it looks like a great little project, but I'll be honest, I had no idea what a Cherub was before I bid, now I do and it looks terrifying.

How you can have a 12ft boat with and 18ft mast and a 5ft dagger board .... I don't even want to think about the spinnaker.

Still, at a couple of hundred bucks with a good trailer...

I just did a google image search on the Cherub. I have to say...the images where only the bottom 2 ft of the dagger board is in the water are my favorites! It kinda resembles Attaching your trapeze harness to a parachute and standing in the path of a tornado.

    Best of luck

Doing some research I've found that the crew weight needs to be under 120kg, and its a 2 man crew.

Anyone out there under 20kg fancy having a go?

Great little boats to sail. I "learnt" how to sail one 15 years ago.

Hate going upwind in light winds but are good fun in 25 knots downwind.

    Good luck with the project.
